How to Build Back-Yard Horseshoe Pits

We dug 18" holes to be used to secure the backstop.  Also notice that the anti-weed cloth was cut away and trimmed to enable grass to grow along the sides and back of the pits.

My backstop was constructed from pressure treated wood.  Three 2"x8" boards were screwed into 2"x4"'s that will go into the ground.

A behind the pits view of the backstop sitting in the holes.  A level was used to make sure it was straight.
A shot of the front of the backtop.
