How to Build Back-Yard Horseshoe Pits

This photo shows the 4"x6" beams laying on top of the anti-weed cloth.  The gray looking sand is leveling sand that we used to help make sure that the beams would be level.

The leveling sand was spread out enough to lay the beams on, as well as the patio bricks that will be placed beside the lumber.

Plastic landscaping track secured with metal spikes was used to hold the lumber in place.  You can use spikes that go directly through the beams - I was given the materials so I opted to do it this way.
