Pop Up Web: Our Pop Up Camper

In March 2006 we decided to take the plunge and buy a camper.  After much research, including a trip to an RV show, we settled on buying a pop up tent trailer.  This decision was based in wanting to CAMP not move our family room to a campground every now and then.  Cost was also a factor as a used pop up is relatively inexpensive compared to a more traditional travel trailer, or RV.  The final factor was towing.  Pop ups are generally lighter than most other types of campers and my 2003 Ford Explorer XLT has a somewhat limited towing capacity.  After shopping for a few months we found our trailer on Craigslist, and purchased our 1997 Viking Legend 2480 from a really nice family in Mansfield.
